Edinburgh Driving Lessons

Calum Chrystal – Colinton Edinburgh

Calum started driving lessons in January this year, he had very little experience when we started but had the advantage that he had already passed his theory test. This meant that as soon as Calum became ready he would be able to book his driving test. We started driving lessons in the Colinton area around where Calum lives, looking at junctions, hill starts and some small roundabouts. Calum was also doing private practice hiring the Arnold Clark dual control hire cars with his mum. This really did speed things up as Calum managed to really practice what we had been doing in during our driving lesson from the week before it meant we were straight into the next thing. After a few weeks of going out we ventured right across Edinburgh during our driving lessons, taking on a range of challenges and features including the Edinburgh city bypass and some of Edinburgh’s busiest roundabouts. Calum had managed to do so well with myself and practicing with his mum that we decided that it was time to book his driving test with the plan that we would be ready when it came round. Calum booked for the end of May and this was right in the middle of his university exams but I suppose you may as well do them all together then you can relax. On the day of Calum’s driving test I collected him 1 hour before and we did a little bit of practice around the Edinburgh area, there were a few new roadworks which was nice to know what was happening with them. 10 minutes before the driving test we parked up and wandered in for the main event. Calum walked away into the distance with the examiner and I would now need to wait and find out how he had got on in 40 mins. A brilliant result and great end to Calum’s exams when I found out he had passed first time with no real problems at all. Well done Calum, enjoy the summer.
