Alinafe Gama – Polwarth Edinburgh

Alinafe started driving lessons in the summer of 2015. Alinafe had never driven before so we were beginning from the start during our driving lessons. We drove round an estate near Morningside during our first driving lesson looking at junctions, some which were uphill and some that were down hill. We were trying to develop some basic control with the clutch and brake. As lessons progressed we were soon driving up Morningside road dealing with a whole range of hazards, a bit like we had entered a hazard perception video. Alinafe was a university at Heriot Watt and worked at Nando’s during the week along with other commitments so we had to fit driving lessons in during times we were both free. We had progressed through everything in driving by the end of the summer and we just needed to then practice and perfect what we had already gone over.  With university work increasing with exams coming up Alinafe took a little break from driving between November the end of the year. Alinafe returned in January to lessons and wanted to book a driving test date and work towards it. She said that her journey to university had given her a massive motivation! This was great as it gave us a goal that we were trying to prepare for. Together we worked incredibly hard perfecting skills in a range of areas to do with driving. Alinafe did so well taking in things that we had discussed and coming back to the next lesson even stronger and more focused than before, she also managed to put up with me going on about things which I can imagine won’t always be easy. When the week of the driving test came in I knew that we were ready and we had worked very hard to stay on track. On the day of the driving test I actually had another driving test before Alinafe in the morning which managed to pass. Alinafe told me that she was aware that Jamie had passed earlier in the day and she now was feeling the pressure. I was confident that Alinafe had exactly what it took and she didn’t disappoint passing first time at the Currie test centre in Edinburgh and getting my week away to a fantastic start. Well done
