Sasha – Greenbank
Home from university in Glasgow for the summer, Sasha set her sights on obtaining her driving license during her break. What followed was a journey of determination and triumphant success.
Sasha’s adventure on the road began at the very start of the summer. Her flexible schedule allowed for an array of driving lesson days and times, with her only commitment being her early shifts at Sainsbury’s Supermarket. Typically available from around 10 a.m. onwards, Sasha’s dedication to mastering the art of driving was palpable.
When Sasha first approached me, she revealed that she had previously taken a driving test but had not achieved success. However, this time, she was determined to conquer the challenges and emerge victorious. From their very first lesson, it was evident that Sasha possessed a strong foundation of driving skills. Her enthusiasm and swift learning made every session a productive step forward.
Sasha’s learning journey was not lengthy, for she quickly fine-tuned her skills, addressing minor aspects that required attention. Soon enough, it was time to put her abilities to the test. We conducted a mock driving test in the Currie area of Edinburgh, where Sasha would later sit her official driving test. The mock test revealed areas for improvement, but nothing insurmountable. With Sasha’s dedication, they knew they could overcome any obstacles.
The search for a suitable driving test date began, with the goal of achieving success before Sasha returned to university in September. The wait was over when Sasha secured a test date just a few weeks away. In the remaining practice sessions, she polished her skills and honed her confidence.
The day of the driving test arrived, filled with anticipation and optimism. I collected her, ensuring they were well-prepared before setting out for the final practice.
As Sasha drove away with the examiner, I could only wait, knowing it would be around 45 minutes until verdict was announced. The moment arrived, and Sasha returned with a smile, having received the news she had been waiting for – she had passed her driving test.
