Bruntsfield local Juli worked hard to master Edinburgh’s roads before relocating to London—and passed her driving test with flying colours!
Juli, from Edinburgh’s Bruntsfield area, got in touch while in her final year of school, eager to learn to drive. I had recently taught her friend Sarah, who passed earlier in the year, and Juli was keen to follow suit. Starting from scratch, we covered the basics, making sure the lessons were at a pace she could comfortably follow. Juli progressed quickly, and it wasn’t long before she was navigating the busy streets of Bruntsfield and Morningside with confidence.
As we continued working through challenges in the Currie area, we decided to carry out a mock driving test. This highlighted a few areas to work on, and Juli showed determination in perfecting them. Around this time, she shared some big news—her family would be relocating to London mid-summer, which created a new deadline for us. Despite the added pressure, Juli remained focused, and we adjusted her learning plan to ensure steady progress.
With the move approaching, Juli booked her driving test for early September, allowing her to fit in a few more lessons when visiting friends in Edinburgh. The day before her test, we had a thorough three-hour lesson, reviewing everything we had covered and making sure Juli felt fully prepared. Confidence was high, and Juli drove really well in the final practice session.
The following morning, I collected Juli, and we did one last run-through before heading to the Currie test centre for her 10:04 am test. I was thrilled when she returned with great news—Juli had passed on her first attempt. Now, with her full UK licence in hand, she’s ready to drive in London and wherever life takes her next. Well done, Juli!
