A Second Chance at the Road: Persistence Pays Off
After many years, Andrew decided to revisit driving, determined to finally earn his driving licence. Years earlier, when he was 17, Andrew had taken several driving lessons and even sat for a driving test but wasn’t successful. He put driving on hold, but eventually, the desire to drive again resurfaced. Living in the Morningside area of Edinburgh and working in Comley Bank, he reached out to start fresh and try again.
We quickly established that the best option for Andrew’s busy schedule was to have early morning lessons before work. Starting at 7 am, we spent two hours a week on focused driving lessons, and it didn’t take long for Andrew’s previous experience to come back. In just 20 minutes of our first lesson, we could pinpoint which skills needed refining. His enthusiasm and commitment made the lessons productive, and his improvement was steady.
With a valid theory test, we were ready to tackle the practical test once Andrew felt confident. After conducting mock tests and finalizing his driving skills, Andrew decided to book a driving test in November.
The Final Test: A Cold Winter Morning and a Fantastic Result
The morning of the test was chilly, but Andrew was calm and prepared. Having practised regularly at 7 am, he was used to early starts, and this final practice run helped him feel at ease. With the roads clear and the sun rising, we made our way to the Currie test centre for the big day.
Andrew’s focus and practice paid off, and he passed his driving test with just one fault—an impressive result. His steady progress and determination to perfect every detail made him a model student. Now, with his full UK driving licence, Andrew is free to drive around Morningside and beyond. Congratulations, Andrew!
