Alexandra – Blyth Bridge Scottish Borders
Alexandra started driving lessons at the end of January this year. She had a very busy schedule as she went to school in Edinburgh and usually had a six day week so the times that she was free to go out on driving lessons was limited. We managed to find a regular slot on a Monday that we were both free to go on. Alexandra was in a very fortunate position that she had her own car that she could practice in, and her mum and dad were very good at getting her to drive on lots of journeys. This made a noticeable difference between driving lessons. We discussed that sitting the driving test in Edinburgh was going to be our best option as the waiting list wasn’t going to as long as Peebles. Alexandra got long school holidays and for her Easter break was going to be off school for three weeks. This meant that we could get lots of regular practice in and ensure she was ready for her test which she had cleverly booked for the end of her Easter holidays. To add to the situation Alexandra’s mum, unfortunately, got injured in the middle of March with a horse and was unable to drive for the next 12 weeks. This meant that Alexandra passing would be a huge help as she would be able to then drive to and from her school in Edinburgh. I was confident that we could do it. On the lead up to the test, we carried out a mock driving test and fully discussed it. Alexandra had done very well overall with only a few things to work on. We managed to fine tune all of these elements and hopefully on the day of the test they would be a thing of the past. Alexandra told me that on the day of her driving test she wasn’t feeling that great and had been feeling under the weather all week. Adreniline must ahve kicked in as this didn’t stop her from passing her driving test on her first attempt in Edinburgh. Well done.
