Callum Bruce – West Linton
Callum started driving lessons on his 17th birthday his dad had organised it months in advance ensuring that there would be no hold up in starting driving lessons. I already knew Callum as he is the apprentice mechanic at the garage I use for my car Whitemoss in West Linton . Callum and the others at Whitemoss garage have always been fantastic at sorting any problems that I have so going out with him was a pleasure. Due to Callum having a great knowledge of cars it was very easy to explain how things worked and Callum was managing to do a lot of practice with his dad outwith driving lessons. Desperate to get on the road as soon as possible Callum managed to sit and pass his theory test within a couple of weeks. This freed us up to book the test as soon as Callum felt ready. We decided that doing our driving lessons in Edinburgh would be the best idea as the driving test waiting list was so much shorter than Peebles. Callum managed to find a cancellation for the end of September and this seemed like a really good time scale. It was exciting it was so close but still gave us enough time to fine tune small details. When the test day came in it was the September weekend and Callum was off work this was great as he could relax in the morning and be all set to show the examiner what he could do. Callum managed to pass on his first attempt in Edinburgh and was told by the examiner that the drive was really good and there wasn’t much to talk about. Great result, well done Callum.
