Matthew – Colinton Edinburgh
Matthew got in touch about driving lessons, he lives in the Colinton area of Edinburgh and I had had the pleasure of teaching a few of his friends to drive over the last few months. Still dealing with the backlog of driving lessons we arranged to begin in the summer as soon as I had space available.
On our first driving lessons Matthew and I picked an estate in Bonaly which was very suitable for learning to drive, the estate was made up of lots of blocks and w could make things as easy or as hard as we wanted to. Matthew did really well and managed to take in everything we were talking about to do with junctions and how the clutch control affected the movement of the car.
After a few driving lessons, Matthew was very comfortable driving around the Colinton area and we started to include roundabouts which opened up where we could go during our driving lessons. This kept things fun and challenging driving in lots of areas of Edinburgh from lesson to lesson. Matthew was always enthusiastic and a very fast learner.
We got to the point by the end of summer that we were actually almost ready to sit the driving test but we had a slight hold up as the waiting list for the theory test was so long. Matthew had even looked at the possibility of sitting the theory test out with Edinburgh to see if he could speed up the process. After a long wait, Matthew managed to successfully sit and pass his theory test meaning we were now good to book his driving test.
Luckily booking the driving test in Edinburgh was actually a lot easier than trying to book a theory test. We managed to line a test up for the following week. I was very confident in Matthews ability and he didn’t disappoint. Matthew passed on his first attempt with only one driving fault. Well done Matthew, he is now free to come and go from Colinton whenever he pleases and explore Edinburgh and beyond.
