Sam – West Linton
Sam started driving lessons just before the summer holidays, he was just finishing his fifth year at school and being on exam leave had a little bit of flexibility as to when he was free to go out on his driving lessons. We did a mix of lessons sometimes starting in West Linton and finishing up at his school.
Sam did well building on all the skills he had from driving various vehicles over the years. Sam had done a bit of practice with his grandad which was great as this helped with our progress. As the summer holidays came in Sam had a few trips away planned so our weekly lessons stopped and we resumed once he returned.
When Sam returned to school in Edinburgh for his sixth year he had a bit more free time in his timetable, we were able to start early before school on some days and he also had days that he finished earlier so we could start in Edinburgh and finish back in West Linton.
As the October break came around I was going away for one week and Sam said he would have his theory test completed by the time I returned which he did. This was great as we were ready to get a driving test booked.
Sam managed to find a driving test in Edinburgh at the Currie driving test centre first thing on a Thursday morning. I collected Sam very early at 0630am, we left West Linton and headed into town to go and hopefully get Sam a driving license.
After we drove around the area doing everything one last time I felt really good that Sam would have no problems. As 8 am rolled in Sam left the test centre waiting room with the examiner and headed away to the car. I now just waited for his return. I was delighted to find out that Sam had passed his driving test on his first attempt.
Sam is now free to come and go from West Linton as much as he wants. Well done.
