Connor – West Linton
Starting his final year of high school, Connor set his sights on obtaining his driver’s license, commencing this adventure just after his 17th birthday in May.
A few years earlier, Connor’s sister Megan underwent the same journey and managed to achieve success. Now, it was Connor’s turn to navigate the road to success. As the lessons commenced, Connor displayed a remarkable aptitude for grasping the fundamentals of driving. Swift progress allowed them to venture into Edinburgh, seeking out challenging road situations to master.
Fortunate to have dedicated support beyond their lessons, Connor’s parents played an integral role in reinforcing his learning. Between formal lessons, they provided extra practice, significantly accelerating Connor’s learning curve. This collaborative effort laid a solid foundation for Connor’s skills and confidence on the road.
After a summer break and successful completion of the driving theory test, the time had come to book Connor’s driving test. An early September date was secured. The anticipation and excitement were palpable as Connor, with the prospect of newfound freedom within arm’s reach, eagerly prepared for this crucial milestone.
On the day of the driving test, an early start marked the beginning of the final practice session around the Currie area of Edinburgh. Confidence filled the air as we parked and took a moment to gather our thoughts in the waiting room. At precisely 8:57 a.m., Connor’s examiner emerged and called his name, setting the wheels in motion for the test.
As Connor set off on this critical journey, I remained anxiously optimistic, trusting in Connor’s abilities. Around 45 minutes later, the moment of truth arrived. Connor returned, and the examiner announced the long-awaited news – he had passed with flying colours.
Congratulations, Connor! Enjoy the new licence.
