From First Lesson to First-Time Pass: Niven’s Driving Journey
Absolutely thrilled to announce that Niven, from the Grange area of Edinburgh, has passed his driving test on his first attempt! Niven’s journey is a testament to hard work, determination, and a positive attitude.
Niven got in touch at the end of summer 2024, eager to start his driving lessons from scratch. We began with the basics, focusing on clutch control and mastering some challenging junctions around the Grange area. Niven’s enthusiasm and positivity created a fantastic learning atmosphere, making every lesson enjoyable and productive.
In addition to our weekly lessons, Niven also practised with his mum and dad in their car, which really helped him build confidence and bring everything together. As the weeks went by, we progressed quickly, and it wasn’t long before we were attempting a mock driving test at the Currie test centre in Edinburgh. While the mock test highlighted a few areas to improve, Niven remained determined. Together, we created a structured plan to perfect his skills and get him test-ready.
By Christmas, Niven was confident and prepared to take his driving test in early January. He managed to secure a test date for the second week of January, but unfortunately, the day before his test, he received an email saying his examiner was unavailable, and his test had to be rescheduled. Despite this setback, Niven stayed positive and managed to secure a new date for the following Friday.
Just when things seemed back on track, Storm Eowyn hit central Scotland, bringing a red weather warning and forcing the cancellation of his test once again. It was a frustrating time, but Niven’s luck turned around when he found another test date for the following week.
Finally, after all the delays and challenges, Niven arrived at his test centre, and I’m delighted to say he passed with flying colours! The examiner even complimented him on his driving.
Well done, Niven! You’ve worked incredibly hard, and we’re so proud of your achievement. Enjoy the freedom of the road and driving around the Grange area whenever you please.
