Grant – West Linton
Turning seventeen in August Grant’s dad had organised a quick start for driving lessons. Having never driven before on the first driving lesson we got to grips with the basic control of the car. We used the network of backroads leading out from West Linton heading down to Penicuik learn the basic car control such as starting and stopping and standard gear changes.
Grant went to school in Edinburgh which was great as we could start in Edinburgh at the end of a school day and then finish in West Linton at the end. Grant had a very busy schedule with school and rugby so we had to squeeze in driving lessons when we could. Out with driving lessons, Grant was getting to drive with his mum and dad regularly which was bringing things together really quickly it was noticeable the speed of his progression. After passing his theory test we managed to get a test cancellation at the very end of October that Grant went for. It was great as he passed on his first attempt in Edinburgh at the Currie test centre.
