Jamie Woolford – Dunsyre
Jamie’s mum got in touch about driving lessons for Jamie at the end of 2015. At the time I was very full with people but agreed that I would be able to begin in the new year. While Jamie was waiting to begin driving lessons he managed to study for his theory test which he managed to actually pass before we started. This was a great advantage as it meant as soon as we were ready to sit the driving test Jamie was free to book it immediately. When we went out on our first driving lesson we began in West Linton it was clear that Jamie had a lot of skills already as he rides motorcross and has driven a few vehicles off road so all the skills exist we just need to order them. We headed straight into Edinburgh on our first driving lesson and managed to cover roundabouts, traffic lights and everything that normally lies on the road between. Jamie was brilliant to go out with as he was incredibly enthusiastic and managed to take everything we talked about on board. After going out just three times we had covered everything that I could think of so we just needed to do a little practice and then a mock test. Currently Jamie is at school at Heriot’s in Edinburgh and at the time had prelims coming up so we worked driving lessons around this. Everything was on track we had carried out a mock test and discussed Jamie’s driving in depth, we were now ready to book a driving test and see if Jamie could hold it all together for the examiner. Jamie was lucky as he found a driving test in Edinburgh which was on the last day of his February break. We turned up for the 0917 test at the Currie test centre on Edinburgh and Jamie had not one but two examiners go out with him. This would really add to the pressure. Haha. Jamie also knew that nobody that I have taught from George Heriot’s has failed a driving test yet! Jamie did really well keeping the 100% pass rate for George Heriot’s going passing first time with only one driving fault. Well done.
