Katy – Oxgangs Edinburgh

Katy got in touch about driving lessons in the summer last year. She told me that she was very excited to start driving lessons but also a little nervous. I assured her that she had nothing to worry about. During our first few driving lessons we stayed fairly local to the Oxgangs area getting to grips with the basics. There are a lot of challenging estates to practice driving in around the Oxgangs area, so Katy had actually mastered a lot of things without needing instruction by the time we moved on from these areas. The next challenge we took on was roundabouts. Katy did really well taking in all the new information, and even when finding things difficult Katy managed to keep a positive attitude. This meant that going out with Katy was always enjoyable.When it came to manouvers Katy seemed to get the hang of what we were doing fairly quickly. After covering everything we did a little bit of practice on everything and when Katy felt ready we tried a mock driving test. I was very impressed with how Katy got on in the mock driving test, everything was coming together. Shortly after the mock driving test Katy started going out doing extra practice in the Arnold Clark Dual Control Hire cars this really brought the small details together quickly and I could see that Katy’s confidence was growing. We booked the test and were on the home straight with only a few things to tweak. The day before Katy’s driving test I had filmed a new video about Calder road in Edinburgh, I desperately wanted to upload it to my website so Katy could have a look at it before her driving test in the morning. I set my alarm for 4am to set the video upload onto the next stage so hopefully it would be ready for the morning. Everything went to plan as it was ready for 7am so I sent the link to Katy in the just after 8am Calder Road 2016 . We turned up for the driving test and I felt we were ready for whatever Katy was going to be asked to do. Katy returned passing with only one driving fault! An incredible result, this now gives Katy the freedom to drive her family around and get up to lots of adventures over the summer well done.
