Kipps Finlayson – Edinburgh Driving Lessons
Kipps cut my hair for many years at Cheynes hairdressers. Once I became a fully qualified driving instructor we would often talk about how I was getting on, and share views on how to deal with people in a custmer service type of way. After getting my haircut one day Kipps decided that he wanted to start to learn drive. He hadn’t needed to drive as he worked in town and and lived very close by to his work meaning that everything in Kipps’ day to day routine was very accessible. We started with a two hour lesson driving around parts of Leith where Kipps lived at the time. Kipps was very natural at driving making me wonder why he hadn’t been interested in driving lessons when he was seventeen! Within six hours driving lessons we had covered everything, and I think if Kipps had gone for a driving test he would have had a pretty good chance of passing it! Kipps sat his driving theory test very soon after starting driving lessons and we had a test date lined up for the end of November. Unfortunately a driving examiner strike took place on the day of Kipps’ test postponing it. We both had commitments in early 2013 so Kipps booked his next driving test for the first Monday of March 2013. A few months went by and Kipps and I met up to do a lesson the week before day before his driving test all went well . Monday morning and unfortunately out of nowhere it had snowed all night and this cancelled Kipps’ driving test! Frustrated and feeling so sorry as his driving instructor we managed to get another driving test booked for the early May. The day came round and Kipps and I headed to Musselburgh in Edinburgh to see if everything we had been through on driving lessons could be delivered to the driving examiner. Kipps didn’t disappoint passing with flying colours after such a journey to get there. Well done.
