Ian – Edinburgh
Ian had started to learn to drive a few times over the years but had never seen it right through to the end. I actually previously worked with Ian in Edinburgh City Council before going on to become a driving instructor. Ian got in touch about lessons originally many years ago but at the time lived on the other side of Edinburgh from me so unfortunately, it wasn’t going to work. He started lessons with another driving instructor but didn’t take it to the end before stopping. After the coronavirus lockdowns and the exciting news of his second baby, Ian felt that driving would really change his life. He would get a lot more freedom and be able to help with his children rather than everything being up to his wife.
We started driving lessons building on the skills he had picked up from the previous driving instructor and fine-tuning a few things to suit Ian more. It wasn’t long until we had covered everything that we needed to, it was now just a case of perfecting things. Ian’s main thing was accuracy, we needed to be better on roundabouts and lanes. After going over it a few times things started to click and the consistency in Ian’s driving was noticeable.
We managed to get a driving test booked for first thing in the morning and with an early start of 6 am felt that as we arrived at the test centre Ian was ready to show the examiner that he was good enough to be on the road. Ian did just that, passing his driving test on his first attempt in Edinburgh at the Currie test centre. Well done Ian.
