Rory Smith – Fountainbridge Edinburgh
Rory had put off driving for a number of years but decided that 2015 was the year he was going to do it. Rory works at Edinburgh Castle currently and traveling by bus to and from work which wasn’t such a big deal, but acquiring his driving licence would give Rory lots of options in the future. Rory seemed to get the hang of driving very quickly in his first driving lesson. Something that I liked was that when thinking about driving and how he was going to go about tasks he spoke out loud. This meant that I knew exactly what he was thinking, sometimes really good things and occasionally irrelevant things which I would question, but this made us progress very fast during his driving lessons. Rory had a very busy summer with the Edinburgh festival and the visitor numbers attending Edinburgh castle in the thousands so I can imagine coming out to a driving lesson after a full day must have been tiring. We lined up a driving test for the middle of September and did regular lessons on the lead up to it. Rory was the third driving test I had that week and with the first two passing with no real problems the pressure was on for Rory to follow in their footsteps. Rory did not disappoint passing first time with compliments from the examiner and managing to match everyone in his family with a first time pass. Well done.
