Hannah Dimmock – West Linton
Hannah’s mum got in touch at the end of 2015 to arrange for Hannah to begin driving lessons, we started driving lessons at the beginning of December and went out weekly until we had covered everything at a basic level. Hannah was then lucky enough that she had access to a car to practice in with her mum and dad. So over January and February Hannah did lots of practice perfecting the skills we had looked at during driving lessons, this meant that the next time we went out it was just a case of tightening up any small problems. Hannah always had questions and took in the things that we discussed meaning that progress was fast but also fully understood. We drove around Edinburgh getting Hannah used to some of the really challenging roundabouts on Calder road and everything else that the Currie area of Edinburgh had to offer. Through the month of February and March a few other people from West Linton in Hannah’s year at school had been lucky enough to pass first time so I really felt the pressure for Hannah! When test day came around Hannah was fully prepared and I had every confidence that she would bring everything together for the examiner, but you never know. Hannah told me that she had woken up early on the day of the driving test and was feeling extremely nervous, it never really showed in the drive we did before the test. 0907 rolled in and I watched Hannah leave the Currie driving test centre in Edinburgh. I now just had to wait for her to return in around about 40 minutes and hopefully the examiner would have good news for us. Hannah was fist back out of the other driving tests which had headed out and the examiner was very pleased to tell Hannah that she had passed, I was delighted. This frees Hannah up for her Easter holidays and gives her the freedom that she has been working towards. Well done.
