Thomas Wood – West Linton
Thomas started driving lessons at the end of sixth year with the goal of passing his driving test before leaving to start university in September. Together we worked our way through all the things driving included and we managed to also drive in a number of places including Penicuik, Edinburgh including the bypass and Peebles. Thomas practiced with his dad regularly between driving lessons which aided progress massively as anything we were covering during driving lessons could be practiced and consolidated by the time I saw Thomas next. We decided that we were going to sit the driving test in Peebles so started really getting to know all the challenges that the area had to offer. We booked the driving test as the waiting list seemed to be a number of weeks at the time , this also gave us a goal and motivation to work with. Test day was here before we knew it, it was a nice calm day as Thomas and I had discussed would be excellent conditions for sitting a driving test. Thomas managed to bring everything together and passed giving him almost a month before university starts where he can relax and enjoy his new licence.
