Ruraidh – Silverburn Midlothian
Ruraidh got in touch looking for a driving instructor in Silverburn Midlothian, this was right at the end of the first coronavirus lockdown, at the time things were such a mess that I was going to be struggling to begin straight away. Ruraidh started driving regularly with his mum and dad and decided that when I had space we could just tidy things up. After eventually getting enough people on the road and dealing with a second covid lockdown I was ready to begin. In our first driving lesson, we needed to figure out what skills Ruraidh had and anything that we needed to develop. We started taking a driving down into Penicuik and worked on some fundamental skills, this would hopefully advance Ruraidh in other areas. Before we knew it we were driving up and around Edinburgh, dealing with complicated bits of road and every other challenge I could come up with. Progress was going really well but now we had another couple of things that were going to get in our way. Ruraidh still needed to sit his theory test, and he was also going to be leaving for university down south at the end of August. The timings were going to be a little tight for what we were up to. We decided to book a driving test for January 2022 when Ruraidh would be back from University and bring it all together then. Luckily the weather stayed okay which enabled the plan to come together. Ruraidh passed on his first attempt in Edinburgh at the Currie test centre.
