A 7am Driving Test Success: Charlotte From Dreghorn Achieves Her Goal
Charlotte, from the Dreghorn area of Edinburgh, reached out about finally tackling her goal of getting a driving licence. Although she had done a lesson in the past, she had never reached the stage of sitting for her driving test. With two young children, Charlotte knew that obtaining her licence would be a game changer for her family.
In our first lesson, it was evident that Charlotte had retained many of her previous driving skills. We worked on fine-tuning these, adding a few new elements to bring her fully up to speed. After covering all the essential areas, we carried out a mock driving test. While it went well overall, there were still a few aspects to polish, particularly getting comfortable under the pressure of being tested.
Charlotte showed great resilience, improving dramatically over the following sessions. She practised handling mistakes and quickly learning how to address them calmly, turning potential stress into confidence. This progress was exciting to witness, and soon we were ready to book her test.
Charlotte found a cancellation slot for an early 7am test, which meant we had to start our final practice in the dark! She drove brilliantly, and despite the early hour, all signs pointed to success. When she returned from the test centre, the sun was just rising—fitting for the bright news that Charlotte had passed her driving test with ease.
This was a huge achievement, and Charlotte is now free to navigate Dreghorn and beyond with her full UK licence. Well done Charlotte!
