Iris Passes Her Driving Test in Edinburgh Just in Time for Summer
Iris got in touch about driving lessons while I was teaching her flatmate Mia. She had already done plenty of driving with her family, so it was a case of figuring out what level she was at and identifying the final areas to focus on. From the first lesson, it was clear Iris had strong driving instincts, and with just a few refinements—especially around clutch control at blind uphill junctions—we were on track to bring everything together.
Over the following weeks, we focused on polish and precision, practising in the Currie test area in Edinburgh to build familiarity. Iris was particularly good at adapting to feedback and making consistent improvements, which made lessons both productive and enjoyable.
Once we completed a mock driving test, the list of things to improve was very short, and she worked through them with determination. Iris had already booked her driving test for the end of the university year, just a day before she was moving out of her flat for the summer. Talk about timing!
On the day of her test, I picked her up at lunchtime for one last warm-up drive, and she handled everything with calm control. After heading into the test centre at Currie, I waited for her return… and was delighted to hear that she had passed with ease.
A fantastic drive and a fantastic result—well done, Iris!
