Kenny Dick – Roslin Midlothian
Kenny got in touch deciding it was time to learn to drive, he was now in his thirties and with his second child on the way he felt that it was essential to get on the road. We started driving lessons at the beginning of December 2015. Kenny had never driven before but told me that he was ready to listen to everything I had to say and give it his best shot. We worked well as a team, Kenny was very determined and always had questions which meant that we progressed very quickly. As the Christmas holidays rolled in we were in the final stages of driving lessons, just clearing up a few things, making sure that all the small faults were a thing of the past. We carried out a mock driving test just before Christmas and Kenny did really well. Although he had some faults it was a very convincing drive which I was delighted with. We both had some time off over the Christmas period and Kenny used the videos on my website to look at driving test routes in Edinburgh. Kenny managed to find a driving test two days before he returned to work. This was perfect as it meant he didn’t need any time off work, and could sit the driving test without the pressure of workmates knowing. I collected Kenny early on Tuesday the fifth of January which was the first driving test of 2016 . We did a warm up and Kenny was on form, the break away from driving may have even helped, giving him time to reflect on the mock driving test. Before we knew it test time had come and Kenny left the Edinburgh driving test centre and I was confident that he wouldn’t have any problems. As Kenny arrived back I was keen to hear how he had got on, also being the first driving test of 2016 were we away to a good start. Not only had Kenny passed his driving test first time, he had passed with no faults! I was over the moon, what a result and a great start to the year!
