Lewis Gray – Callands West Linton
Lewis got in touch about learning to drive at the start of the summer holidays, Lewis was about to go into his final year at Peebles high school. The year before I had taught Lewis’ older sister Iona to Drive she had done really well passing her driving test first time in Edinburgh with no real problems. Hopefully Lewis would follow in her footsteps. On our first driving lesson I could tell that Lewis was going to be quick learner like his sister as as soon as we covered something new Lewis seemed to pick up the theory and methods quite the thing. As the driving lessons progressed we discussed that due the driving test waiting times that we would probably be better heading into Edinburgh to sit Lewis’ driving test so we focused our lessons around the Currie area of Edinburgh. Lewis’ dad managed to get him insured on one of the family cars this was great as Lewis could practice and bring things together. On the day of the driving test I collected Lewis from school in Peebles and we headed up to Edinburgh the weather was horrible. We went over one more time how the wet weather would affect things. Soon we were in Edinburgh and the weather seemed a little better . Lewis went out on his test and managed to pass first time, I asked him if he was nervous , he told me he was more competitive and wanted to pass like his sister did last year. Well done it was a great result.
