Natalie Jackson – Nine Mile Burn
Natalie got in touch at the end of the summer last year about driving lessons, at the time I was very full so was unable to begin straight away. I had taught one of Natalie’s friends Abbie to drive earlier in 2015 so Natalie decided to wait. We managed to get started at the end of October. Natalie did very well on our first driving lesson, we managed to drive from Nine Mile Burn down to Penicuik and through a number of junctions with no real problems. Natalie went to school in Edinburgh so it made sense to do some of our driving lessons starting in town before driving back to nine mile burn to finish. Week to week we managed to work our way through different bits of driving including the maneuvers too. As christmas was fast approaching I had some time off planned we decided just before we took a short break that trying a mock test would really allow us to see where Natalie was at. We did this and although a few things needed to be fine tuned Natalie understood what required some extra attention. After new year we got straight back into driving lessons and Natalie was more determined and focused than ever telling me that she now couldn’t wait to drive! Our first driving lesson back in the new year went really well and we discussed if we could try and find a driving test for the end of January then we should be on track and ready for it. Natalie managed to find a driving test for the end of January when she was also on exam leave from school. Natalie did tell me that the driving test was the test she was most nervous about. I collected Natalie on a really miserable Tuesday morning with continuous rain and just a dull day in general. We headed into Edinburgh to see how Natalie would get on with her driving test. I was delighted to see that when Natalie retuned that she had passed her driving test first time with very few faults. This keeps the Heriots all time pass rate at a very impressive 100% that’s over the last 5 years. I wouldnt like to be the next person to sit their driving test from Heriots, nothing but pressure. Well done Natalie!
