Alex – West Linton
Alex was still at school his mum explained when she got in touch looking for a driving instructor in the West Linton area. We quickly found that on one of Alex’s weekday mornings he had a slightly later start so this gave us an opportunity to do driving lessons at 0730am starting in West Linton – 0930am Finishing in Penicuik where Alex could get the bus to Peebles to be on time for his first school class. This worked well and with the hour change just happening the mornings got lighter again which didn’t feel so early.
Alex picked up the driving very quickly and before we knew it we had covered everything. We discussed the importance of him getting his theory test booked and passed very soon so that nothing was going to stand in our way of scheduling the practical test. Alex got on that and a few weeks later has sat and passed that. Getting to practice between driving lessons with his mum and dad made a huge difference in our progress. Alex was noticeably further on each time I went out with him.
Now that the theory test was passed it was time to try and see if we could get a practical test booked very soon as Alex was ready, it was also going to mean he could have a very exciting summer getting the freedom to use the car and leave the West Linon area easily if he wanted to. Alex messaged me one day to say he had successfully found a driving test cancellation for the following week, this was great I could accommodate it and we were ready to give it a shot. Collecting Alex first thing at 0630am in West Linton we headed into Edinburgh for one last practice. At 8 am Alex left the Currie test centre with the examiner and I was delighted as he returned being told that he had passed. Well done Alex, he now has the freedom to come and go from West Linton as much as he likes.
