Holly Johannessen – Blyth Bridge
Holly started driving lessons while still at Peebles high school in her final year, we did weekly driving lessons in and around the Peebles area getting to grips with lots of skills and mastering the basics. When the summer at the end of the school year came round Holly was very busy and actually stopped driving lessons as she was busy with other commitments. At the start of summer this year Holly got in touch after taking a year’s break from driving lessons. Holly was motivated this time and wanted to see it through to the end. However some circumstances had now changed Holly now lived in a flat with friends in Edinburgh, meaning that it would make far more sense to complete learning to drive in Edinburgh rather than trying to travel away down to Peebles. Holly was up for the challenge and although had taken a year’s break and had only had eight hours driving she did extremely well on her first driving lesson in Edinburgh. Not before long we were carrying out a mock driving test and then fine tuning any driving errors that still existed. Holly booked her driving test after mastering Calder road with all its bus lanes and confusing systems, and it was then announced that the day before Holly’s driving test date that the bus lanes in Edinburgh were going to be changing and that 90% of them were going to be made part time! This would completely change the way you would drive Calder road, I knew Holly could adapt as she took things in very well and that she did passing her driving test at the Currie test centre in Edinburgh first time with compliments from the examiner.
