Olivia – West Linton
Just about to start her final year at Peebles high school Oliva began driving lessons at the end of her summer holidays. We discussed that living in the West Linton area we would probably head up to the Edinburgh area for carrying out our driving lessons as this would be one of the closest driving test areas to West Linont and in my opinion, the standard of driving that someone gets to learning to drive in Edinburgh compared to Peebles is significantly higher.
After we had been out driving a few times Olivia got to start practising with her dad in between driving lessons this helped a lot. Lots of small details and coordination slowly started coming together as she was lucky enough to go driving a few other times per week.
Oliva managed to get a part-time job in a coffee shop in town which she also often got to drive from West Linton up into Edinburgh when she was lucky enough to get a lift. We coordinated our driving lessons with Olivas’s practice and sometimes went out every second or third week, this also gave Oliva time to get her theory test done.
Once the theory test was done we started to build momentum towards the practical test, this was getting exciting as it would give Oliva so much freedom for the summer coming up once school was finished. A driving test was booked and we had our deadline to aim for, we worked hard during our driving lessons making sure that we had everything ready for the day. I was really confident that on the day Oliva was going to be fine and I was right to be Oliva passed on her first attempt in Edinburgh at the Currie driving test centre. Well done.
