Balancing Nursing and Learning to Drive: Sarah’s Journey to Success!
Sarah, based in the Polwarth area of Edinburgh, today passed her driving test on her first attempt!
As a nurse with a busy and unpredictable schedule, Sarah’s availability varied week by week. However, her determination and commitment made it possible for us to create a plan that worked around her shifts. Starting from scratch as a complete beginner, Sarah’s journey began in Polwarth, where we introduced her to the basics of driving.
Sarah quickly picked up new skills and showed a strong determination to perfect her techniques. Within a few lessons, we increased the challenges, ensuring steady progress while keeping her engaged. It wasn’t long before Sarah had mastered the full syllabus, including the four manoeuvres that could appear in her driving test.
Partway through her lessons, I upgraded my car from a Ford Fiesta to a larger Nissan Juke. While this presented a slight adjustment for Sarah, she adapted quickly and soon felt just as comfortable in the new car.
After several mock driving tests around the Currie area, Sarah honed her skills, addressing any areas of improvement and building her confidence. With her readiness growing, she managed to secure a cancellation test just a few weeks away.
In the final lessons leading up to the big day, we mapped out a clear plan to ensure Sarah was fully prepared. On the morning of her test, we were fortunate to have ideal driving conditions, with a cloudy sky to block out the low winter sun. Sarah’s practice drive went smoothly, and she headed into the test centre ready to shine.
When she returned with the good news, I couldn’t have been more thrilled! Sarah had passed her driving test on her first attempt.
Well done, Sarah! Your hard work and focus have paid off, and now you have the freedom to explore Polwarth and beyond. 🚗💨
