Syd – Edinburgh
Syd got in touch looking to begin driving lessons as soon as possible. I had successfully been his aunties driving instructor last year and he wanted to see if he could get on the road quickly as well. We went out three hours at a time, this doesn’t suit everyone but Syd managed to focus and progress very quickly each week.
Syd lived on the other side of Edinburgh and was travelling to Wester Hailes to begin driving lessons. This was great as it meant that we were actually always in and around the test area. It didn’t take us long to cover absolutely everything that was going to be involved with driving, it was now just a case of fine-tuning and perfecting things.
In between driving lessons, Syd was getting to go out driving practising with his mum and dad which was great and made a noticeable difference to the driving. He had also been using the videos on my website to consolidate things
After Syd successfully sat and passed his theory test it was time for us to see if we could get his practical driving test booked. Syd managed to find a test cancellation for a few weeks time at 8 am. We did a little more practice and discussed some of the things he could expect at 8 am on the roads. One of the main things that might be a little different was the bus lanes in Edinburgh would be in action. This would mean avoiding them and trying to plan ahead. Syd understood what we were talking about and after a bit of thought, it was obvious he had the hang of it.
On the day of the driving test I met Syd very early at 0630am at Wester Hailes, we set out to do one final practice, had a look around some backroads as well and arrived at the driving test centre and away Syd went for his driving test. I was delighted upon Syd’s return to find out that he had passed with only one fault. What a result. Well done Syd.
