7am Driving Lessons That Delivered, How Alex built consistency before work.
Alex, who lives in the Fountainbridge area of Edinburgh, began driving lessons with me after previously learning with a few other instructors. Although she had gained experience, she hadn’t reached the stage of sitting a practical test and felt that progress had been slower than she would have liked.
With Alex working full time, we scheduled lessons from 7am–9am, first thing in the morning before work. These early sessions were focused and productive, giving us consistent time each week to build momentum.
Our first priority was to assess exactly where Alex’s driving stood. After one structured and calculated session, we had a clear picture of what she could already do confidently and what needed refinement. From there, we put a clear plan in place and began working through it methodically.
Once we had filled in the obvious gaps and strengthened her overall consistency, we introduced a mock driving test around the Currie test area in Edinburgh. As is often the case, the mock highlighted a few areas that needed attention before sitting the real test. Importantly, everything was positive and moving in the right direction.
With a test date booked for early February 2026, we created a structured preparation plan throughout January to fine-tune the final details. Each lesson built confidence and sharpened decision-making.
On test day, after one final warm-up drive, we arrived at the Currie test centre. I watched Alex head out with the examiner and waited for her return. I was delighted to hear that Alex had passed on her first attempt.
A brilliant result and well earned.
Well done, Alex.
