Isla – Romannobridge
Isla got in touch looking for a driving instructor that covered the Romannobridge area. I was already teaching one of Isla’s friends who had been driving in the Edinburgh area. I discussed if she was also up for having a look at the Edinburgh test area also which she was. Isla had some free periods on Tuesdays and Thursdays which meant she could finish school slightly earlier. We arranged that on a Tuesday afternoon we could meet in Penicuik giving us access to the Edinburgh area efficiently and then finish the driving lesson in Romannobridge at the end.
Isla did really well during driving lessons and got the hang of the basics pretty quickly. What was really good about Isla finishing in Romannobridge was that during our driving lessons we got a really great mix of roads each time which helps with the learning.
Isla managed to sit and pass her theory test very early on during driving lessons, this meant that we were ready to book a driving test whenever we felt ready. Before we knew it Isla had covered everything and it was time to try a mock driving test. Isla did really well in her mock test, she did fail but this just gave us a few things the fine-tune. We were now in a position Isla could start to look at potential driving test dates in Edinburgh.
Isla successfully managed to find and book a test for early December which was very exciting. In addition to that, she was incredibly lucky to get a car which she could start practising and would be available to use once she had passed. This made everything extremely exciting!
The test was here before we knew it and Isla was all set, we had managed to straighten out any of the small mistakes and had a good general plan for the average situation.
After a final practice on the day of the driving test, we parked up and headed into the test centre at Currie in Edinburgh. Isla was then greeted by her examiner and away she went. I was very confident that she had the skills and just hoped that she would feel good on the test. I waited for her to return and I was delighted to hear that she had passed with no problem at all. Well done Isla passing on her first attempt in Edinburgh. Isla is now free to come and go from Romannobridge as much as she likes.
