Zoe – Juniper Green

Zoe got in touch about starting driving lessons at the start of this year. Zoe was moving into Juniper Green and had done some driving in the past she was looking to shape her existing skills and bring them all together for a driving test as soon as possible.

We were carrying out driving lessons first thing in the morning, Zoe started work at 9 am so we were doing our driving lessons 7 am-9 am beginning at Juniper Green and finishing at her office.

After going out a few times we covered everything and filled in any blanks Zoe already had in her routine. Zoe did well taking on board anything we needed to add or remove. After going out for a few weeks Zoe took a break from doing driving lessons and went away to practice and perfect the skills.

The next time I saw Zoe was a few months later and it was obvious that she had been working hard as her driving was very controlled and consistent. The exciting news was that Zoe had booked her driving test for mid-June, this was one 4 weeks away so we came up with a plan of what we would do to try to ensure that she was fully prepared for it. We identified a few things that needed more thought and practice and decided that we would start with them. After fixing the known issues we carried out a mock driving test which Zoe did really well with.

Before we knew it the early morning start for the day of Zoe’s driving test was here, I collected Zoe first thing in the morning at 6:30 am as her driving test was at 8 am, this gave us enough time to carry out one more final practice including all the possible manoeuvres that she could be asked to do. Zoe did really well she said she had been using the videos on my website too which made her feel confident in what she was doing.

After the warmup, we parked up at the Currie test centre in Edinburgh and headed into the waiting room at the test centre. I was really confident that Zoe was going to be great. The examiners came out and I watched Zoe disappear away to the car. Now all I needed to do was wait for her to return and find out how she had got on. After around 45 minutes Zoe returned and I was delighted to hear the examiner tell her that she had passed on her first attempt. Well done Zoe.
