Eddleston driving instructor

Rowan – Eddleston

Rowan’s mum got in touch to arrange driving lessons to begin on her birthday and try to get on the road as soon as possible. Rowan’s older brother had leant to drive a few years earlier with a different driving instructor. Rowan’s mum felt that heading from Eddleston into Edinburgh would be far more beneficial. I completely agree, I think people learn a lot faster in Edinburgh compared with Peebles and the overall standard of driving is so much higher.

We carried out slightly longer driving lessons going out for three hours at a time, this gave us plenty of time to head up into Edinburgh from Eddleston and finish back in Peebles in time for Rowan’s first class on a Monday.

As the weeks went by Rowan progressed quickly, not before long we had covered everything and were going to try a mock driving test, we did this in Edinburgh. Rowan did really well taking in any things that we went through and worked hard between driving lessons correcting things too.

After completing the mock test although we had a few things to fine-tune Rowan was in the position to look at booking a driving test. While looking for a cancellation in the near future Rowan got offered a cancellation in Peebles. This should in theory be a lot more straightforward than Edinburgh so we decided that we would go for it.

Living just up the road from Peebles and going to school there Rowan was very familiar with the Peebles area. We carried out our final few driving lessons in Peebles, looping through common problem areas and getting Rowan ready for what to expect on the day.

Before we knew it the day of the driving test was here, I collected a nervous but ready Rowan from her house and away we went for our final practice. After completing all driving test manoeuvres and carrying out a full loop around Peebles we were fully warmed up.

Arriving at the test centre in Peebles and walking in we were met by a friendly examiner and away Rowan went. I was delighted to hear when she arrived back that she had passed on her first attempt. Well done Rowan.
